Meet The Experts

Chiropractor Parker CO Rebecca LaMaack Schwartz

Chiropractor

Rebecca LaMaack Schwartz, D.C.

I moved to Colorado 19 years ago and started this practice after graduating chiropractic school in Minnesota at Northwestern Health Sciences University

Having had unique exposure to chiropractic as an integral part of a multidisciplinary approach during my schooling, I have worked hard to create a clinic that embraces the best of both allopathic and alternative medicine. I am passionate about helping people change their lives by leaving their pain behind them and humble enough to know that chiropractic is often only a piece of the puzzle. I believe that patients really win when providers from many disciplines are contributing and collaborating to address what can be complex pain syndromes.

My team here at Advanced Chiropractic Clinic, work hard to address the needs of our patients with chiropractic, acupuncture, cupping, massage, nutrition and functional testing. We start with the least invasive approach to address pain and restore function. But we are also willing and able to manage them through more aggressive treatments when appropriate such as imaging, spinal injections, orthopedic or neurosurgical intervention. We respect, incorporate and work alongside mainstream providers, delivering patient centered care that traverses the boundaries of complementary and allopathic medicine in the patients’ best interest.

Chiropractic Parker CO Michael Harman

Acupuncturist

Michael Harman, L.Ac.

Michael has been interested in health and nutrition since he was a teenager and brings this knowledge and passion into his acupuncture practice to help people take better control of their health.

He received his Master’s Degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Health and Science, San Diego in 1997. This four-year, 2900-hour program is at the cutting edge of Asian healing arts, with a primary focus on acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. The program devotes numerous hours to the study of Western science and medicine, allowing for an integrative approach to modern-day illnesses. Michael is a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine (Dipl. O.M.), certified by the National Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), and is currently licensed in both Colorado and California. He is a member of the Acupuncture Association of Colorado and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of California, San Diego.

Michael uses a powerful system of acupuncture to alleviate pain. He began using this technique in 2000 while working at a multidisciplinary clinic in New York where he specialized in the neck, back, and other musculoskeletal pains related to trauma from automobile accidents. Using these distal systems of Dr. Tan and Master Tung, he treated between 80 and 100 patients a day, quickly learning he achieved positive results with fewer needles.

From 2006–2010, Michael was given honorary privileges at Colorado’s Craig Hospital to treat patients with spinal cord and brain injuries. He also participated in a National Institute of Health (NIH) study to research the neurological effects of acupuncture on the spinal cord injury population.

In addition to treating all types of pain, he believes Chinese medicine is effective for stress, anxiety, depression, insomnia, fatigue, digestive disorders, immune system dysfunction, weight gain, sinusitis, allergies, and women’s health issues, to name a few. He believes many diseases are curable, but what works for one person may not work for another. The beauty of Chinese medicine is that it corrects underlying imbalances causing symptoms, but can also correct these imbalances to prevent getting symptoms in the first place, thereby improving all aspects of health. He also includes cupping, gua sha, and other Chinese modalities.

Michael is particularly interested in the treatment of lower extremity conditions. From 1998-2008, in addition to his acupuncture practice, he traveled around the country as a highly regarded hiking boot and athletic footwear fitter, teaching retail employees, dealers, representatives, and medical professionals about biomechanics, orthoses, modification, and other more professional fit techniques to provide better comfort, health, and performance.

In his free time, he enjoys biking (mountain and road), skiing (downhill and cross country), hiking, and swing (Lindy Hop) dancing.
